Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Follow the client's tailored commercial cleaning checklist to complete all tasks according to The Dust Collectors' standards. Typical tasks include:

    1. Dust furniture, equipment, partitions, walls, and other surfaces to maintain a clean and polished look throughout the facility.

    2. Clean and disinfect sinks, countertops, floors, toilets, mirrors, tables, chairs, refrigerators, microwaves, and other surfaces in restrooms, break rooms, and/or kitchenettes to ensure a hygienic environment for all users.

    3. Restock supplies in restrooms, break rooms, and kitchens, ensuring essential items like soap, paper towels, and toilet paper are always available.

    4. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and/or hand scrub floors using brooms, mops, and vacuum cleaners to maintain cleanliness and safety throughout the facility.

    5. Empty trash cans and recyclables into designated disposal areas, ensuring effective and responsible waste management.

    6. Wipe down walls and woodwork, doors, wall hangings, baseboards, and other surfaces to remove dust and dirt, enhancing the overall cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of the space.

  • Recognize potential safety or maintenance issues during cleaning tasks and report them to the client in the comments section on the customer checklist, ensuring prompt attention to maintain a safe environment.

  • Arrive at work (client location) on time, perform services to the established standards, and ensure the client's facility is locked and secured upon completion, demonstrating professionalism and responsibility.

  • Address special requests from customers as appropriate and document the handling on the customer checklist and company paperwork, ensuring all customer needs are met efficiently and effectively.

  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures related to task performance, product or supply use, and incident reporting, promoting a culture of safety and accountability.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective interaction with clients and team members, ensuring clear understanding and collaboration.

  • Detail-oriented individuals are crucial, as they pay attention to the specific needs and details at each customer’s location, with extra attention to any special requests that may arise.

  • Being friendly and professional is important, as team members will often engage with customers while cleaning is being performed, creating a positive atmosphere.

  • A team player mentality is vital, as the ability to work collaboratively within a team where members depend on each other to complete tasks efficiently is crucial for success.

  • A self-starter attitude is highly valued; individuals should be able to identify work that needs to be done and take initiative without needing explicit instructions.

  • A desire to learn, seek new challenges, and take on additional responsibilities is encouraged, as it fosters personal and professional growth within the company.

  • Good reasoning ability and common sense are necessary for solving practical problems that may arise during the performance of cleaning tasks.


Education, Certifications and/or Experience
  • A High School Diploma is required as a foundational educational background for all applicants.

  • While experience in a service environment is preferred, it is not strictly required, allowing for a range of applicants to be considered for the position.


Language Skills
  • The ability to speak and write English fluently is essential, as it enables effective communication and the relaying of important information between the team, customers, and office staff.


Work Environment
  • Physical demands include walking and standing for extended periods, climbing, bending, kneeling to clean floors by hand, pushing and pulling objects, lifting and moving items (including a 20 lb vacuum), and repetitive bending and lifting, as well as repetitive arm movements that are necessary for thorough cleaning.

  • Travel to and from customer locations is required, necessitating flexibility and readiness to adapt to various work environments.

  • Uniforms, provided by The Dust Collectors, must be worn during work hours to maintain a professional appearance and promote brand identity.


How We Will Measure Success
  • Customer satisfaction levels will be assessed based on surveys conducted to gather feedback about our services and overall performance.

  • Customer retention rates will be monitored to evaluate our ability to maintain long-term relationships with our clients, reflecting our service quality and reliability.

  • Quality assurance scores will be derived from manager surveys and feedback, providing insights into the effectiveness of our cleaning services and areas for improvement.
